Biden Has 'a successful dump'

Sorry, guys, this was just too good to pass up:

As he left his house for the second time today, he had a load of wood in the back of his pickup and told the assembled reporters, "Don't get hit (by the traffic), guys, I'm just going to the dump."

Upon his return from disposing of the logs, Biden pulled up in his pickup, saying he had nothing to report, but "I had a successful dump."

"I had a successful dump. I dropped everything at the dump. It all worked out and by the way I got a second load, guys, coming and if anyone wants to help me unload let me know, those stumps weigh about 150 pounds."

Yes, I'm still laughing. No, my sense of humor has not progressed beyond that of your average 12-year-old boy.

Ah, how can anyone say this guy wouldn't liven things up?

Awesome catch (2.00 / 4)

If having a 'successful dump' gets you on the short list, my numerous documented successes should put me in contention.

Thanks for the chuckle.

I really get a kick out of this guy.  He is having a great time toying with his MSM stalkers.

What a tease!

Bwah ha ha.... (2.00 / 8)

Need to dump load number 2. That's just too funny. John Stewart would have a field day with that line. I'm really glad "it all worked out" for him. Why wouldn't it?

Seriously, Biden would make an excellent VP.

by soyousay on Wed Aug 20, 2008 at 03:17:16 PM EST

Seriously? (none / 0)

No, I think Biden comes across too often as puerile and arrogant.  If he was more intelligent and more of a visionary, I could deal with the loose-lipped manner.  But I've never seen him show me much except an ability to talk himself up.

I've said it before but allow me to repeat: I think Biden is the very worst choice of a remarkably long list.

Why is it called taking a dump? (2.00 / 3)

You're not taking it anywhere.  They should call it leaving a dump!

Re: Biden Has 'a successful dump' (2.00 / 5)

He also brought the reporters coffee and bagels. Not to beat the dead horse I used to yell about during the primaries, but he's not so much a gracious senator as he is a gracious guy who was sent to the Senate!

Re: Biden Has 'a successful dump' (2.00 / 4)

If Biden isn't VP, I sincerely hope he gets SecState instead of someone like Richardson.  I'd much prefer someone like Biden as SecState, although I could see him as SecDef with Richardson as SecState.  I think most people are anticipating that Richardson will get some spoils somehow.  Personally, if neither Biden or Clark are the VP nods, they'd be my two Sec nods - Biden as SecState, Clark as SecDef.

Re: Biden Has 'a successful dump' (none / 0)

By statute, any retired career military person, cannot be appointed or serve as Secretary of Defense until a period of 10 years has elapsed since that individual's retirement from active duty.

Wes Clark, my most fervent wish for V.P., retired from active military service on May 2, 2000. He is precluded by law from appointment to Secretary of Defense until at least May 3, 2010. That would be over thirteen months after Barack assumes the presidency.

Wes Clark is not in consideration for Secretary of Defense. My hope is that he is in contention for Veep and will have significant influence on the upcoming Obama choice for Secretary of Defense.

Re: Biden Has 'a successful dump' (none / 0)

I was unaware of that statute, but it sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the information.

My own hope for SecDef is, given his change of position on Don't Ask Don't Tell, either Sam Nunn or - please don't hit me - Robert Gates (for a few months, anyway).

Maybe instead of a convention speech, Biden should do stand-up for a half-hour.

Yes, I agree, Best Diary of the Day award.

Anyone imagine Evan Bayh taking himself that UN-Seriously?

On a crappy dark day full of bad news (weather wise as well here) Joe Biden can still take this all with a grain of salt.

As I have said, if I can't have Wes or Hillary on the ticket, at least give me Joe.

Just about as successful as when he dumped the RAVE Act on us all.

LOL, thanks for reminding me why I always have this odd sense of amusement when I hear about Biden.

They named it...the RAVE act.  Laughing my fucking ass off.  Wonder how long it took them to come up with the acronym.
